February 2013 London, February 19th 2013: A J Walter Aviation and Engineering - The Aviation Maintenance Holding - have signed an agreement aimed at enhancing spare parts support and provision in Russia through the establishment of an exclusive consignment stock pool of Airbus A320 and Boeing B737 parts. These components will be housed centrally at Engineering’s facility at Domodedovo Airport, Moscow, allowing for quick and easy distribution across Russia and CIS, as well as the surrounding areas. “The absence of Western-built aircraft spare parts stocks in Russia has historically forced many local airline operators, who do not have their own home base stock, to ship spare parts from abroad losing time on logistics and customs arrangements as well as incurring high costs” comments Natasha Meerman, Sales and Marketing Manager – Russia and CIS, A J Walter Aviation. “In AOG situations especially, this has a severe effect on the efficiency of aircraft operations in the region. This consignment stock now offers local carriers a rapid and flexible solution for the supply of hot items for Western aircraft, direct from a Russian based stock pool.” Natasha concludes, “The stock is available to support all Russian carriers, for AOG requests as well as base maintenance across Engineering’s maintenance facilities. Immediate access to this stock means all local operators can now improve utilisation rates and the overall profitability of their fleet-wide operations.” For further information on the AJW and Engineering consignment stock pool in Russia, please contact Natasha Meerman on natasha.meerman@ajw-aviation.com -end-
