CZECH AIRLINES' ENGINEER AWARDED AJW AVIATION BURSARY TO PRESTIGIOUS MSc AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE COURSE

David Nemec, an engineer at Czech Airlines has been awarded a Bursary by A J Walter Aviation the complete aircraft spares support specialist. The Bursary contributes to the fees for the MSc in Aircraft Maintenance Management degree course in conjunction with City University, London.

This year AJW offered the Bursary to students exclusively from Europe and the entries AJW received were outstanding, with applicants from England, Moldova, Greece and France.  These applications were of an exceptionally high standard and all who entered are to be congratulated.

Jaroslav Kubes, Director of Engineering at Czech Airlines is proud of his young engineer, "The possibility of further education in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Management at the renowned City University of London is of a great benefit for both our colleague David Nemec and Czech Airlines.  The patronage of one of our most important business partners in the sphere of aircraft equipment maintenance, A J Walter Aviation, is admirable, coming as it does in this period, which is difficult for the aviation industry and air carriage.  The success of our colleague David Nemec against such tough competition confirms the high professional level and expertise of Czech Airlines employees."

Boris Wolstenholme, Chief Executive of AJW, is delighted with the response this year and congratulated David at an awards ceremony held last week at the Czech Airlines office in Prague, "This is our third year supporting the MSc Aircraft Maintenance Management degree course, the qualification will be extremely beneficial to David’s career and to Czech Airlines. The Bursary demonstrates AJW’s commitment to the training and development of aviation professionals and the excellent response this year compounds our decision to continue supporting the course and the University.  Last year a student from Emirates won the accolade and we are proud to continue the tradition of rewarding exceptional individuals in the field of aviation maintenance and engineering."

Professor Roger Wootton, Course Director at City University, London comments "The complete MSc in Aircraft Maintenance Management programme is supported by visiting lecturers from leading airline companies including senior managers from British Airways, Boeing, Lufthansa, Monarch and Emirates. As well as the annual Bursary, AJW provides funding for the course degree programme and City University is very grateful for their continuing support."
