May 2012 AJW proudly accepts the award for ‘Best Spare Parts Provider’ in one of the most hotly contested categories of the Aircraft Technology Engineering & Maintenance (ATE&M) Awards 2012. London, 8th May 2012: The winners of the ATE&M Awards 2012 were announced at a glittering ceremony in Covent Garden last Wednesday night. The ‘Best Spare Parts Provider’ was a very competitive category, which had over 90 companies initially nominated. The awards are entirely democratic, and with several thousand votes cast from all areas of the aviation industry, this makes the win for AJW particularly meaningful. The awards process started at the beginning of the year when the industry was asked to make their nominations in the six main categories. Following this, a shortlist of finalists was announced and votes were again invited. The ATE&M Awards, now firmly established as a highlight on the aviation calendar, aim to recognise and celebrate success in the commercial aviation aftermarket. AJW President, Christopher Whiteside, comments “This is a great accolade and we are very proud to be named as the industry’s best spare parts provider. The fact that this award is voted for across the aviation industry, including our customers, partners and suppliers, makes it especially important to us. Only last month Boris Wolstenholme, our Chief Executive, won the Institute of Director’s ‘Young Director of the Year’ and so this is turning out to be a great year for the Company as we celebrate our 80th anniversary in aviation.” Whiteside continues, “Lead by a strong, ambitious and growing management team around the globe, our business continues on course to deliver double-digit growth annually across an impressive portfolio of component, engine and consumables services. At our core is a Company ethos entirely focused on our customers’ needs. The delivery of a flexible and first class service at all times is underpinned by on-going significant investment in the latest process improvement technology. We certainly look forward to defending our hard fought title as we continue to expand our business over the next twelve months.” -ends- MEDIA CONTACT: COMPANY CONTACT: A J Walter Aviation is a world leading specialist in the supply, repair and lease of commercial aircraft spare parts, including services in aircraft engines, aircraft inventory management; power-by-the-hour and pooling support; consignment stock; global 24/7 AOG; component maintenance and overhaul; consumable supplies; logistics and freight management.
