April 2012 London, April 2012: A J Walter Aviation proudly announces that Boris Wolstenholme, Chief Executive, has been named as the Institute of Directors ‘Young Director of the Year’ for London and the South East. The IoD Director of the Year Awards are recognised as one of the most prestigious accolades a business leader can receive.The award was presented to Wolstenholme at a glittering reception, held at The Landmark Hotel, London. The evening’s celebrations played host to Directors from across London and the South East, each competing for one of the eight awards presented on the night. Wolstenholme comments “A J Walter Aviation is a fantastic company which has doubled in size in the last three years alone. Our growth and success is testament to our talented and motivated Executive Team and the excellent staff that we employ across the globe. We have incredible ambitions for AJW, and I am looking forward to leading the Company through its next stage of growth and meeting the far reaching goals set by our President, Christopher Whiteside.” Now in its sixth year, the awards are a public recognition of the key role that directors play in the UK’s economy, as well as in job preservation and creation. The judging criteria considers factors including the individual’s vision, objectives and industry involvement, as well as corporate social responsibility and overall company performance. The Young Director of the Year is a new category added to the awards, making Wolstenholme the inaugural winner for London and the South East. After graduating from the University of Reading with a degree in Business and Economics, Wolstenholme joined AJW as a team member of the Sales Department in 1996. He progressed quickly into the role of Divisional Sales Manager and further to the position of Commercial Director. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of AJW in 2009.
